One of the last sections of the storied Clements family ranch in Kaufman County is lined up for development. Developers have filed plans with the City of Dallas to build a 950-home residential community on almost 260 acres that for decades was owned by the family of the late Texas Governor William Clements. The property located north of U.S. Highway 80 is on the shores of Lake Ray Hubbard. The new home development will include preservation of one of the Clements family homes on the property, which will be repurposed as a community center. D.R. Horton, Gehan Homes and Horizon Homes will build in the first phase of 180 lots. The grand opening will be in February or March 2017.
