The Texas Association of Realtors has tracked a 12.4 percent increase in luxury home sales in the DFW area in 2015. The region’s housing market also grew 4.7 percent during the same time period, according to the association’s Texas Luxury Home Sales Report. “Texas’ economic prosperity continues to make luxury home sales one of the strongest sectors of the Texas housing market, particularly in the $1 million to $1.5 million range,” notes Leslie Rouda Smith , chairman of the Texas Association of Realtors. In Dallas-Ft Worth, the report tracked 1,088 homes sold in the region for $1 million or higher. Luxury home sales made up 1.4 percent of the total housing market in North Texas. Compared to the average home sale, luxury homes took 37 days longer to sell.
