Get ready, get set, and mark your calendars for May 19. That's the day Relay for Life is coming to Dallas to help raise funds and awareness for the American Cancer Society. We hope to see you there! Our REALTORS® work and live in Dallas and believe in giving back to their local communities.
Relay for Life Comes to Dallas in 2018
We are excited to welcome the next—and most assuredly not the last—Relay for Life event to our local community in Dallas. The opening ceremony kicks off at 5:30 PM on May 19, followed by the Survivor Walk, which honors the strength and courage of those who have been diagnosed with cancer. Whether your diagnosis was 10 years ago or 10 days ago, anyone who is a survivor or currently affected by cancer is invited to walk. The Caregiver Walk follows the Survivor Walk, giving recognition to those who have helped support their loved ones through cancer treatment.
Visit the official website of this Relay for Life event to learn more about donating, participating, or sponsoring a participant. Every dollar helps, and you'll be among a distinguished list of sponsors and participants.
What Is Relay for Life?
Since its beginnings in 1985, Relay for Life has been one of the world's great ongoing community fundraising events for the American Cancer Society. More than 3,500 Relay for Life events take place across the United States every year, supporting and celebrating cancer survivors and caregivers, as well as raising money for cancer research. Participating in one of these events makes you a vital part of the American Cancer Society—one of more than 3.5 million survivors, patients, advocates, volunteers, caregivers and researchers who have donated their time, energy and money to beat cancer.
About the Location
This event takes place at Main Street Garden Park in Downtown Dallas, a beautiful green space that serves as a central hub for many community events. Nestled between Main Street, Commerce Street, Harwood Street, and St. Paul Street, the park is a central gathering place where you're as likely to see visiting tourists as you are residents and employees of local businesses on lunch breaks. With free WiFi, a beautiful green lawn, fountains, dog run, toddler play area, local art installations and an on-site cafe, it's the perfect place to meet up for Relay for Life on May 19.
