Drivers in Collin and Denton counties are in for some severe traffic delays around the Dallas North Tollway and Sam Rayburn Tollway this weekend. North Texas Tollway Authority is closing all main lanes of the DNT around its intersection with Sam Rayburn from 11 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. The agency is widening the DNT in this area and is in the midst of building a new Tennyson Parkway bridge over the toll road. This weekend's closures will allow NTTA to demolish the northern portion of the Tennyson bridge. The southern portion of the bridge will remain open to both directions of traffic on Tennyson. On the DNT, northbound lanes will be closed from Spring Creek Parkway to Headquarters Drive. That means the northbound entrance from Spring Creek and northbound exits to Legacy Drive and Headquarters will also be closed. The southbound lanes of the DNT will be closed from Gaylord Parkway to Spring Creek. That means the southbound entrances from Gaylord, State Highway 121 and Legacy and the southbound exits to Legacy and Spring Creek will also be closed. The closures also mean that the direct connections from northbound DNT to Sam Rayburn and east and westbound Sam Rayburn to southbound DNT will be closed.
